Legal Accounts Payable Specialist Jobs in Illinois

Collaborate with technical teams to ensure AP processes are monitored daily, reporting issues and discrepancies to management.

Perform quality control related to invoice processing, alerting third-party managers to ongoing issues, training needs, and providing feedback to processors.

Manage accounting tasks related to accruals, mashes, GR-IR, credit memo reporting, and AP trial balance.

Identify invoice and purchase order discrepancies, establish root cause(s), and offer corrective actions and solutions.

Provide training to partner divisions and stakeholders, ensure knowledge of the P2P process is disseminated to all interested parties.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

Attends appropriate in-service education, staff meetings, and seminars for professional development.

Highly knowledgeable in the use of computer systems available for the position.

Research, review, and input Accounts Payable invoices, vouchers, refunds, employee reimbursements, and mileage accurately and timely.

Review and upload procurement card transactions.

Reviews and researches vendor payment information by using inquiry functions and vendor files.

1 to 3 years of professional experience Account Management, Payment Processing, Report Creation, Reconciliations

Strong interpersonal (written/verbal/collaborative) communication skills and persistence.

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

Ensure accurate 1099 reporting and maintenance.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts and inspect accounts for accuracy and completeness.

-Communication with vendors and shop managers. *Strong communication is key.

-Processing invoices 100-200 a day (high volume).

-AD HOC projects and reporting

Highly organized with excellent time management skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Process full-cycle accounts payable including vendor and invoice management, approval and weekly disbursement activities

Collaborating with our management team to understand their vendors and related accounting needs.

Resolving documentation issues thoroughly, involving management when appropriate.

Strong Accounting knowledge and previous Accounts Payable experience

Associate degree in accounting, Finance or a related field preferred

Process full-cycle accounts payable including vendor and invoice management, approval and weekly disbursement activities

Strong accounting knowledge and previous accounts payable experience

Previous experience working with MS Dynamics Great Plains strongly preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and be able to manage large volume of invoices and email

High degree of accuracy and proficiency in data entry and management.

Assist in maintaining procedural documents (Standard Operating Procedures) for all job responsibilities.

1+years of business experience in a multi-million dollar, high-volume transaction financial-setting preferably in Accounts Payable.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) has knowledge of basic formulas and pivot tables.

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Experience working in a distribution/logistics/manufacturing environment.
