Lead Wind Technician Jobs

Thorough knowledge of electromechanical relays, hydraulic accumulators, linear transducer, and electrical motor.

Knowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation is desired.

At least 2 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems with a solid foundation in theory of operation is required.

Read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawings.

Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements;

Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager, and mentor peers;

Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety processes and regulations and all applicable compliance requirements;

Ability to pass Technical Knowledge Assessment, and

Minimum of 4 years of wind trouble-shooting experience, or

Technical Certification(s) in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field;

Minimum High School or GED completion (Bachelor's preferred) or equivalent work experience in construction management or quality control

Manage data from inventory tracking system.

Direct and train skilled labor in various procedures and work instructions.

Knowledge of reinforcement and concrete placement, product testing, module installation processes, and civil construction processes

And various duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager & Director

Capable of reading and understanding shop drawings, mix designs, geotechnical reports, manuals, and engineered drawings.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, SQL Server software, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools

High school completion and 1+ year’s related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques

Comparing, copying, calculating, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:

Complete all scheduled maintenance for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment in a timely manner to maximize generation

Must have knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques

Install, test, maintain and troubleshoot minor components and assist with some major components

Assist other sites with remote troubleshooting.

Possess an A.S. degree (electrical or technical) and 2 years turbine experience, or 3+ years wind turbine experience.

Possess at least one year of independent turbine troubleshooting experience, and be able to troubleshoot turbines without assistance.

An Associate’s degree (electrical or technical) and six months turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and one-year wind turbine experience

Able to meet requirements of CEG’s Qualified Electrical Worker program.

Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment

Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.

Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components

Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment

Working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements

Responsible for facilitating training requirements such as tasked based certifications,

Implement effective risk mitigation and provide recommendations to higher level technical staff and management

Perform data collection and prepare reports in order to meet reporting requirements

Perform a variety of administrative duties satisfying both internal and external reporting requirements.

Adherence to the company’s values and behaviors as defined by the EGPNA policies and handbooks

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, SQL Server software, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools

Working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements

2+ years relevant work experience in wind energy or

A.S. Degree (electrical or technical) and at least 1+ year’s related experience and/or training

Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques

Knowledge of heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.

Support Facility Manager in all areas of the operating site.

Perform mechanical and electrical component repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions following all manufacturers' requirements.

Perform down time reporting, data collection and prepare reports to meet wind plant reporting requirements.

Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.

Experience in wind plant operations and turbine experience; including specific experience in wind turbine power converters.
