Assist supervisor in verifying and completion of daily paperwork

Alert the Supervisor of any problems or concerns when issues arise related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues or equipment performance

Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions

Educate donors on blood fact information such as donation frequency, need for blood products, etc

All other duties assigned by supervisor

Assist the Manager or Supervisor in providing direction and/or supervision of Donor Care Technicians. Provides input for employee performance evaluations.

Two years’ experience as a phlebotomist or similar healthcare-related experience preferred

Previous blood banking experience or medical field experience a plus

Bilingual skills and CDL driver a plus

Detail-oriented in regards to document review (completeness, accurate, and legibly written), able to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks

High school diploma or equivalent

Prefer background in a highly regulated industry

Six months of phlebotomy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay rate: Starting wage of $16.00/hr (and more with experience)

Licenses and/or Certifications Phlebotomy certification preferred

No prior specific work experience required.

Prefer phlebotomy experience in a blood or plasma center.

Must possess or achieve within first 90 days a Company-approved CPR/First Aid course and maintain the certification

On-the-job training provided; no experience required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Must possess a Real ID compliant form of identification

Knowledge and skills necessary to collect blood samples from patients

Maintains the logs and records for all Laboratory transactions and information in accordance with department and regulatory requirements

Also REQUIRED for venipuncture Technicians from the other 46 states: Certification in one of the following:

Must have a minimum 1 year of experience of Health Screening or Phlebotomy experience

Have outstanding customer service skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers

Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements

Strong interpersonal and team building skills

Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications

One year of phlebotomy experience

Two to three years of previous supervisory experience

Pay rate: Starting at $18.70/hr and more with experience
