Undergraduate Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and/or Other applicable degrees (replaceable by requisite experience)

Understanding of Project Management and Construction Management concepts identified within PMP and other industry accepted organizations

Field Based Self Perform Solar Construction Experience (i.e. Project Engineer, QA/QC Inspector, Superintendent/Foreman)

Experience interacting with development colleagues

Experience interacting with outside consultants and equipment vendors

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Experience within the Heavy Civil and transportation construction industry – preferably field experience.

7 years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience.

Experience working on large civil transportation projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong management, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

5 years of construction experience; maybe field or project management experience.

Work with operations to facilitate general conditions and general requirements items that are properly addressed in the estimate.

Manage time and resources to ensure the timely completion of accurate estimates.

Outstanding knowledge of planning, scheduling, hiring, budgeting, and job costing.

Deep knowledge of commercial electrical/com/Low-Voltage materials, means, and methods.

Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.

College degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field.

Demonstrated experience in a construction cost role, developing estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience developing program level estimates for medium or large-scale construction projects.

Experience preparing estimates on data center, large-scale high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate or relatable construction projects.

Developing cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design.

Communicates with local management on any issues that may arise during the work of the project.

Knowledge of production and processing. Experience with raw material, waste, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing project.

Knowledge of building and construction including materials and methods needed to complete project successfully.

Knowledge of design technique, principles and tools to complete project.

Knowledge of the principle involved in showing, promoting, and selling services.

Salary will vary by location and experience level. This can be discussed during the first interview

"Hand off" winning bids to project management and provide on-going feedback during construction.

$50,000 - $90,000 annual starting salary depending on experience

Ensure that bids are completed per the solicitation requirements and turned in on time.

Past experience in construction estimating.

High level of verbal and written communication skills.

Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Manage and maintain working documents and cost database on regular basis to support estimate figures.

Conduct surveys and meet with clients to assess requirements, take measurements, photos, and collect data to be used in plan.

Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Review and utilize historical data from previous P.O.s, subcontracts, productivity and other reports as needed to assess unit and labor calculations.

Assists with the research of detailing, fabrication, and field problems

Coordinates with customer and scheduling personnel to schedule material deliveries and placement while coordinating/communicating any changes in the scope of work

Maintains accurate records and documentation for each job and a desirable work area

Performs Preliminary Structural Design work

Performs other duties as assigned

Prepare estimates and perform takeoff while preparing and sending preliminary scope letters, bid forms and documents, to meet bid schedules
