Latent Print Examiner Jobs

Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Starting salary will be based on overall relevant experience and education.

Experience with the use of an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (local, state or federal).

Knowledge of latent print practice and procedure.

Knowledge of crime scene policy and procedure.

Skill in oral and written communication.

Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications

Ensures that the total work product meets all appropriate scientific, legal and accreditation requirements

Master’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Criminology, or a related science course, including minimum qualifications listed.

Prepares chemical reagents (some hazardous) for processing and conducts necessary equipment maintenance within the section. Maintains reagent inventory and reagent logbooks

Ensures transparency of analysis through case notes documentation and provides results through a Laboratory Examination Report

Assists in the development and implementation of laboratory and Latent Fingerprint Section scientific procedures

One year of latent print experience.

One year of full-time experience in latent print comparison work.

Less than 1 year of related experience

1 year but less than 2 years related experience

2 years but less than 6 years related experience

Knowledge of courtroom procedures and legal requirements involving the use fingerprint evidence and testifying as an expert witness.

Periodically attends and participates in continuing education training and professional meetings.

Knowledge of the terminology, principles, and analytical techniques used in the analysis of evidence as it applies to the forensic laboratory.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in the development and comparison of latent prints.

Knowledge on what constitutes evidence.

Knowledge of the procedures for the safe handling of hazardous and biologically hazardous evidence.

Preferred Job Requirements And Qualifications

Ensures compliance with accreditation requirements and appropriate quality assurance and quality control methodologies are employed throughout their unit/section of the laboratory

Schedules workload for assigned unit/section of the laboratory

Responsible for devising and communicating the section’s work policies and operating procedures to section personnel

Evaluates and supervises the section/unit’s employees to include performance evaluations and disciplinary actions

Monitors conclusions and expert testimony of section personnel

Excellent project & budget management skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects & priorities to deliver business objectives.

Deliver best-practice project management oversight for all market defining and launch activities.

Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payors, and patient advocates.

Develop and manage commercial budgets and long-range plans and ensure appropriate resource allocation for prioritized for the asset(s) initiatives.

Global Marketing experience highly preferred.

Prior experience in the pharma/biotech industry

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR LATENT FINGERPRINT SERIES

Examinations conducted by a Latent Fingerprint unit

Theories and techniques of processing, classification and comparison of latent fingerprint-type evidence

Use of equipment and accessories used in a latent fingerprint unit

Use of Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS)

Preferred Job Requirements And Qualifications

Recommends modification of current practices and requirements for operation of the section

Prepares formal technical written reports on the results of examinations, statistical analysis, and research projects

Ensures that appropriate quality assurance and quality control methodologies are employed throughout their section of the laboratory

Evaluates and reviews statistical data to ensure compliance with appropriate scientific, legal and government regulations

Acts as Forensic Scientist Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor when required in their absence
