Education/experience: High school diploma. Some college course work. Previous data entry or laboratory/healthcare experience preferred.
Specimen receiving and data entry of patient demographics and specimen information.
Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of above functions, reports, removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, including medical terminology.
Responsible for assessing the specimen quality, making necessary correction, and preparing the specimen for processing or grossing.
