Required Credentials, License, and / or Certifications:

Completion of accredited nurse program.

PRN position. Hours can range anywhere between 6 am - 9 pm

Uses computers and youthful offender detention specific programs for detention management and communications.

Vacation Accrual Rate: San Joaquin County vacation accrual rate consistent with the candidate's total years of public service.

Maintains security and discipline over assigned unit or program; enforces rules and regulations of the facility and program.

Supervises and guides youthful offender behavior; advises youthful offenders in proper standards of personal conduct.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the Department and facility policies and procedures.

Knowledge of good housekeeping tasks relative to maintaining the sanitary conditions of the facility.

Salary: 1,667.40 + 92.30 CAD = 1,759.70 Bi-Weekly

The Department of Juvenile Justice salutes our heroes.

Maintains required certification and minimum number of training hours in order to remain effective in the facility’s evidenced-based practices and procedures.

This position’s physical requirements require regular stamina in sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, twisting, bending, stooping/crouching, kneeling, lifting, and carrying.

This position performs heavy work requiring the ability to exert more than 50 pounds of force in the physical requirements above.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must adhere to departmental standards in regard to confidentiality and other privacy issues.

Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner, change focus on projects as needed and multitask.

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: Graduation from high school or GED.

Some experience in a correctional or institutional environment.

Some knowledge of sociology and child psychology as applied to delinquents.

Some knowledge of law enforcement and security measures.

Some knowledge of institutional maintenance and upkeep.

Must also be able to maintain order and deal with disciplinary problems if required.

Types reports, forms, and correspondence.

Sets up and closes out files.

Makes copies, does filing, and other related clerical duties.
