Leading transportation planning processes, such as participatory planning; performance-based planning; transportation scenario analysis, comprehensive planning, and federal statewide/metropolitan planning and programming.

Develop strategies and processes that ensure high quality deliverables for the US Department of Transportation.

Knowledge of urban planning, zoning and policy

Strong experience in 3D building massing and conceptualization

Contributes to urban design expertise at all levels; provides education and assistance to other disciplines within the City and community;

Acts as project manager for diverse planning projects;

Three (3) years of relevant prior experience;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

Performs professional planning work in short- and long-range planning projects for the City of Columbia;

Coordinates the design review process;

Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

3-6 years of land planning and or landscape architecture experience

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with project team and manager

Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills

Experience in the development of project planning documents;

AutoCAD, Adobe Suite software, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office Suite experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in leading planning projects and working collaboratively over a virtual platform are a benefit.

Experience in preparing presentations, facilitation, and engaging stakeholders in a workshop setting as an educator are beneficial skills.

Four years of program administration experience.
