ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

· Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

· Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.

· Complete welds to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials.

· Assist in the installation and verify operation of high-pressure steel pipes and fittings.

· Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.

Must have a minimum of 3 years of Tig/CuNi Pipe Welding experience; and

6G welder certified - pipe fitting experience preferred

Person must be proficient in blueprint reading and work from verbal instructions.

Person must be proficient in using various hand tools; drill press, port-a-band saw, hand drills, angle and bench grinders.

Person must stamp with welder ID marking on welds to identify and trace welder preforming the task.

Person must conform to the GTE safety guidelines.

Equipment to be used but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, (jib and gantry).

Must be knowledgeable in a variety of welding machine(s) usage and settings.

Able to meet physical requirements of going onboard ships, vessels, barges, transit ladder ways and tanks to perform daily work activities.

Highschool Diploma/GED or a minimum of 2 years experience in the Marine Industry.

Assist helping other mechanics with different job task when not actively welding.

Accountable for completion of daily work assignments.

Monitors working environment for compliance with safety, quality, environmental and respect in the workplace.

Four (4) years of welding experience

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

Installation and repair of copper and cast iron pipe

Modify and repair utility equipment

Maintain standards in ASME B31.1

May be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
