Industrial Design Director Jobs

5+ years of industry related experience , 5+ years in management (Facility Management Experience)

Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation and succession planning

Ensures that the proper management of resources, distribution of services to customers, and analyses of systems are conducted

Working towards a BA/BS in Industrial Design or equivalent experience.

Have excellent form development ability, manifesting a brands tone and personality through product form.

Develop 3D digital surface models of high complexity and sophistication that are both aesthetically accurate and technically robust.

Combine appropriate design methods, theory and content to address a particular clients business challenges.

Innovate within known high and low volume manufacturing techniques, specifying materials, construction, mechanisms, color and surface finish.

Responsible for the preparation and management of the Facilities Engineering Operating Budget for Roanoke.

Independently works on projects or process improvements when tasked by upper management.

Relationship Management: Builds, develops, and maintains strong, collaborative internal and external relationships.

Manages the Powered Industrial Truck program. Monitors and optimizes leases for all PIT.

10 years’ experience in Industrial or Facilities Engineering required. Preferably in a high-volume distribution operation in the consumer goods industry.

Previous experience managing hourly employees and engineers is required.

Partner with Engineering, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Project Management

Implement Quality Management procedures and programs

Lead Change Management and Continuous Improvement Programs

Proven ability to Implement Change Management and Quality Process Improvement

Manage Quality teams and programs for the manufacturing facility

ASME / ISO Standards Experience

Expert level knowledge and skills with Siemens NX, and Windchill (or other PLM software)

Minimum 8-10 years of related professional experience in a corporate or consulting design team environment.

Experience interacting and effectively communicating with internal partners & 3rd party vendors throughout the design development process

Experience in designing smart audio products.

Work across multiple programs to support the resolution of design intent from front-end exploration through detailed development.

Be involved in defining, refining, and implementing best practices & process within design, and with partner teams in Engineering & Manufacturing.

Senior Designer level experience in a consumer product industry, transportation sector or supplier, design consultancy, or similar field

Exceptional communication skills through presentation and storytelling

Exceptional sketching, visualization, modelling, and presentation skills

Exceptional 2D application skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

Exceptional 3D application skills (Alias AutoStudio, VRED, Rhino, Maya or Blender)

5+ years of Industrial Design or Transportation Design studio work experience

Collaborate and partner cross-functionally with Experience Design, Corporate Design, Program Management, and Customer Research teams to steward excellent outcome delivery.

Senior Designer level experience in a consumer product industry, transportation sector or supplier, design consultancy, or similar field

8+ years of Industrial Design or related studio work experience

5+ years of experience leading highly collaborative teams in a human-centered design environment

Established team leadership experience with responsibility for multiple direct reports

Experience working closely with engineering teams on product design and digital service delivery in an operational business environment
