Hospital Registered Nurse Jobs in Ohio

Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal and regulatory requirements.

May be required to perform other duties responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Assessing the patient and plan of care within set time-frames and document findings according to policies.

Monitors patient for change of condition and responds accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.

Following hospital policy for medication administration.

Delivery of care with empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.

Records vital signs, intake, outputs, pulse oximetry and weights accurately and reports changes to RN.

Teach living skills, medication therapy, symptom management and other health maintenance needs to patients.

0-3 years of experience as a registered nurse.

Assess and evaluate patient’s mental and physical condition in order to assure quality psychiatric and medical care is provided.

Assign, supervise, train and evaluate work of Forensic Rehab Specialist.

Assure development and maintain correctness of the nursing care plan, progress notes, flow sheets and other required documentation is completed.

Responds to, participates in and directs crisis interventions. Assures safety of patients, staff and the general public.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.

Experience: As this is an entry-level position, experience as an RN is not required. Prior experience in pediatrics preferred.

Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.

Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and health care team members.
