Heavy Equipment Mechanic Journeyman Jobs in Iowa

Must have mechanic experience with diesel equipment and heavy construction equipment.

Must have experience with specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment.

Safety Equipment and training provided

2 years’ diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience or educational equivalent required

Perform all job duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems required

Proven prior experience working on various machines including the above-mentioned equipment

Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel/heavy equipment including: front-end loaders, forklifts, and excavators

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects

Have knowledge of industrial and heavy equipment shop safety rules, procedures, and equipment.

Be skilled in the use of electrical, electronic, hydraulic and mechanical test equipment and devices.

PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL EXAM: Typically, is completed within 3 – 4 weeks of offer.

Troubleshoot and repair emergency response vehicle radios, light bars, and security device systems.

Perform gas and electric welding and fabrication on mobile and stationary equipment.

Operate mechanical and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems
