Health Unit Coordinator – Cardiology Jobs

Communicates effectively with patient, visitors and health care team.

Serves as gatekeeper for physician and nursing orders into the Patient Computer System (Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic procedures and outpatient appointments.

Assists with patient flow and patient safety

Operates nursing unit equipment: pneumatic tube system, intercom system, fax machine, computer, printer and multi-line telephone.

Plans and executes a daily routine for performance of non-clinical tasks for the Nursing Unit.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Utilize excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care.

Demonstrate effective and respectful communication with patients, families and the healthcare team, using excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to quickly and appropriately prioritize tasks and manage interruptions.
