Hardware Systems Engineer Jobs

Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunication systems.

Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Knowledge of computers, data networks, digital video cameras and recorders, fiber optics, security surveillance, and basic electronics fundamentals.

Valid drivers license; able to meet company safe driving requirements.

Ability to travel (approximately 75% of the time) to remote US locations.

Are a multi-disciplinary engineer or scientist with working knowledge across many engineering disciplines (e.g., physics, EE, MechE, optics, thermals)

Develop core hardware, working with cross-functional teams to bring 3D printing technologies from concept to production

Create experiments to show proof of concept for new designs

Communicate technology and cost tradeoffs for various options of different subsystems

Supplier development for enabling technologies

Schematic entry and management of design constraints for high-speed PCB layout using Cadence tools or similar.

High-speed board design experience with 10+ layer PCBs, including PCB material selection.

Design, validation, and debug experience with common low-speed interfaces, such as: I2C, SPI, JTAG, UART, and USB1/2.

Knowledge of clocking technology: crystals, oscillators, and simple PLLs.

Knowledge of discrete passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors) and their characteristics and specifications.

Working knowledge of power supply design fundamentals.
