Stay up to date on company-sponsored safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements
Maintain knowledge of updated changes in various models of equipment
Basic knowledge of gas and/or diesel engine repair and maintenance, or willingness to learn
Knowledge of repair and maintenance of electrical systems ranging from 5 VDC to 480 VAC, or willingness to learn
Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic shop equipment
Experience installing/repairing generators preferred but not required

They inspect, diagnose, and repair generators to ensure they are running safely and efficiently. They also provide technical support to customers and other technicians. Duties include inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting generators, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing or replacing defective parts. They may also be responsible for ordering parts, maintaining records, and providing customer service. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of generator systems and components
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Knowledge of safety procedures

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in generator systems
