Overview A General Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. They are responsible for operating a variety of machines and equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes, graders, and other heavy equipment. They must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents in order to safely and efficiently operate the equipment. Detailed Job Description General Equipment Operators are responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. They must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents in order to safely and efficiently operate the equipment. They must be able to inspect the equipment before and after use to ensure that it is in good working condition. They must be able to troubleshoot any problems that may arise while operating the equipment. They must be able to follow all safety procedures and regulations while operating the equipment. They must be able to communicate effectively with other personnel in order to coordinate the use of the equipment. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents
• Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment
• Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with other personnel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check

• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

• Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents
• Knowledge of inspecting and troubleshooting equipment
