The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of building systems and equipment. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance duties. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems and equipment. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, and must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, and must be able to work in a variety of environments.
