If you are relying on your education to meet qualification requirements:

Participates in management of patients with acute and chronic diseases of other health problems, as well as preventive health when appropriate.

Reviews patient management with the physician preceptors and/or Occupational Medicine Physician as appropriate.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Board certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) is preferred.

Coordinate and submit Annual VFC and VFA Recertification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:

5 years of experience with clinical nursing.

2 years of experience with employee health or occupational health.

Knowledge of the health care environment.

Basic computer skills with Microsoft office.

Utilizes assessment skills to determine client's injury, and facilitate any needed medical treatment, and informs Worker's Compensation Case Manager.

Notifies HR of employee's status after completion of post offer health examinations maintaining confidentiality of the employee.

Utilizes assessment skills to determine client's ability to return to work after an illness.

Collaborates with Workers Compensation Case Manager prior to approving return to work when necessary.

Current with DOT drug testing certification.

Able to competently perform technical skills independently.
