Overview Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide medical care and transportation for patients in emergency situations. They respond to 911 calls, assess the patient’s condition, and provide medical treatment or transport to a medical facility. EMTs must be able to work in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions. Detailed Job Description Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for responding to emergency calls, assessing the patient’s condition, and providing medical treatment or transportation to a medical facility. They must be able to work in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions. EMTs must be able to assess the patient’s condition and provide appropriate medical treatment, including administering oxygen, performing CPR, and using a defibrillator. They must also be able to transport the patient to a medical facility in a safe and timely manner. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Ability to assess a patient’s condition and provide appropriate medical treatment
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical personnel
• Ability to operate medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks and defibrillators
• Ability to lift and move patients
• Ability to drive an ambulance
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR certification
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Knowledge of emergency medical equipment and its operation
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to emergency medical services
Job Experience
• Previous experience as an EMT or in a related field
• Previous experience driving an ambulance
Job Responsibilities

• Transport the patient to a medical facility in a safe and timely manner
