Elwyn Collections Archivist Jobs

Desired/Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Perform project management oversight of small projects and multiple tasks within a larger project in a dynamic production setting.

Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.

Knowledge of metadata schemas including Dublin Core and MARC and metadata encodings including EAD and METS.

Experience creating, editing, and executing scripted data transformations in XML and JSON, command-line tools, and basic Python and bash scripting preferred.

Reading knowledge of a language other than English, particularly one of the following: Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Persian, German.

Experience in the archival cataloging, preservation, and management of historic documents and artifacts

Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills

Experience with Collections Management Software such as PastPerfect, Proficio, etc. preferred

Demonstrated understanding of the challenges that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have experienced throughout history preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities

Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
