Elementary Reading Interventionist Jobs

Strong working knowledge of district approved instructional materials for reading instruction and intervention

Strong working knowledge of foundational reading assessments including FAIR, district reading Interim Benchmarks, and other national norm referenced reading assessments

Strong working knowledge of second language acquisition and oral language development

Strong working knowledge of tools and district applications used to access student data

Thorough knowledge of the NGSS and CCSS Reading Foundational Standards

Working knowledge of multiple literacy assessment tools and diagnostic procedures

Minimum of at least three years of successful classroom teaching experience in which the teaching of reading was an important responsibility

Leadership skills necessary to assist teachers, parents and administrators as a

Knowledge of current research and best practices in the field of

Manages classroom procedures to maximize academic learning time, in order to motivate students to achieve maximum potential

Communicates with special education and classroom teachers, students, student counselors, and parents through conferences and other means

Endorsement in the State of Virginia as a reading specialist (master's degree in Reading required)

Professional written and oral communication skills;

Uses and applies appropriate conflict resolution skills with students;

Performs other job duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university;

Ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding

Students, staff, parents, and school matters.

Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as an elementary classroom teacher preferred;

Strong experience with at-risk / small group reading intervention and instruction;

Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;

This position does not qualify for a lateral teacher transfer within CFISD during the school year.

Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.

Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.

Associate's degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching

Letter of interest stating why the candidate feels his/her qualifications are a good match to those sought by CHS

Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License required

Reading Specialist (Grades 6-8) endorsement required

Self Contained (Grades 6-8) endorsement required

Understanding of the knowledge, skills and processes for teaching reading at the elementary level

Ability to provide instructional leadership and management of division’s reading intervention programs across grade levels

Minimum of three years recent successful experience as a supervisor or lead teacher in the subject area

Understanding of the RPS Response to Intervention framework, as well as experience implementing and supporting a multi-tiered system of supports

Expansive knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning and Curriculum Frameworks Clear knowledge of VA Educator Performance Standards

Knowledgeable of data analysis, using data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
