Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.

Be willing to participate and complete all safety requirements including adherence to LOTO procedures; SMATS; TF4/TF5 reporting, etc…

Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Team player with good interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing, and team environments.

Basic typing skills and proficiency in the utilization of Microsoft Office, including Excel.

The apprenticeship program will combine on-the-job training and academic instruction.

Steel Dynamics has partnered with DelMar College to create a 2-year electrical apprenticeship track.

The apprentice will work alongside a designated “mentor” in their respective discipline during their on-the-job training days.

Graduates of the program will move to a mill at the pay rate for an entry level electrical rotating shift position.

Candidate must have demonstrated electrical aptitude.

Possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, eagerness to learn, be self-motivated, and hardworking.

Should have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities, and welding experience is considered a plus.

Must be skilled as an industrial mechanic.

Should be familiar with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, and 3-phase 480vt equipment.

Apply electrical theory to test and troubleshoot machinery and heavy equipment (i.e., DC Drives, ladder logic, PLC programming, and SCR Controls),

Diagnose and correct electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions,

Plan, direct, and record maintenance standards; recommend or initiate or replacement of faulty equipment.
