Overview An ELA Instructional Specialist is a professional who provides support and guidance to teachers and students in the area of English Language Arts (ELA). They are responsible for developing and implementing instructional strategies and curricula that meet the needs of all students. They also provide professional development to teachers and administrators on best practices in ELA instruction. Detailed Job Description The ELA Instructional Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing instructional strategies and curricula that meet the needs of all students. This includes designing and delivering professional development to teachers and administrators on best practices in ELA instruction. The specialist will also provide guidance and support to teachers in the implementation of ELA instruction. They will also work with school administrators to ensure that ELA instruction is aligned with state and district standards. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of best practices in ELA instruction
• Ability to design and deliver professional development
• Knowledge of state and district standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and administrators
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess student learning and provide feedback
• Knowledge of current technology and its use in the classroom
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Master’s degree in Education or a related field preferred
• Teaching certification in ELA
• At least 3 years of teaching experience
• At least 2 years of experience in instructional design and professional development
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of best practices in ELA instruction
• Knowledge of state and district standards
• Knowledge of current technology and its use in the classroom
Job Experience
• At least 3 years of teaching experience
• At least 2 years of experience in instructional design and professional development
