Overview An Early Intervention Specialist is a professional who works with children and families to provide support and resources to help them reach their developmental milestones. They work with children from birth to three years of age, and their families, to identify and address any delays in the child’s development. Early Intervention Specialists provide assessments, develop individualized family service plans, and coordinate services to ensure the child’s needs are met. Detailed Job Description Early Intervention Specialists work with families to identify any delays in the child’s development and to provide resources and support to help the child reach their developmental milestones. They conduct assessments to determine the child’s strengths and weaknesses, and develop individualized family service plans to address any delays. They coordinate services with other professionals, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure the child’s needs are met. They also provide education and support to the family to help them understand the child’s needs and how to best meet them. Job Skills Required
