Dog Training Assistant Jobs

Experience scheduling, coordinating classes, and performing general administrative duties in support of trainers, trainees, management, and internal clients.

1 year+ experience as Training Assistant or Training Coordinator.

Experience providing technical and administrative support of training operations.

Experience researching and resolving issues with LMS including registration, reporting, and scheduling.

Our client, a leader in the healthcare insurance industry, is looking for a remote Training Assistant.

This is a 100% remote project - Candidate must reside in California.

Prior experience working with animals is preferred, but not required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility in schedule and the ability to adapt to change

A passion for working with pets and providing high-quality customer service

Reliable transportation to and from job sites

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to listen and respond to requests and feedback from Customers and Management

Must love dogs and have a great deal of patience and empathy

Be a team player with a positive attitude and good energy

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical work during a full shift

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Available to work weekends (8-5 on Saturdays and 9-4 on Sundays)

Experience working with dogs is preferred, but not required!

Coordinate and manage center wide orientation, as well as preparation and inventory orientation materials.

This position is subject to this requirement.

Staff Development- receives and relays messages; greets/directs new hires and visitors

Prepare the monthly calendar for center wide distribution; prepare memos, flyers and correspondence for Staff Development.

Ensure that all required training information is included in the curriculum.

Manage and maintain document templates and forms; provide training on templates and forms as needed

Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a related field

Minimum of two years of experience in a training or coaching role

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Possess knowledge of Aderant, is a plus

Certification as a Guide Dog Instructor by an IGDF accredited Guide Dog school (REQUIRED)

5+ years experience working as a certified Guide Dog Instructor (REQUIRED)

Exceptional writing, communication and public speaking skills

Maintain a level of high expectations in the training of our world class guide dogs and client instruction.

Remain up to date on all behavioral, training and medical information with each dog assigned to your team(s).

Ensure training records are kept up to date by all team members.

Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and achieve multiple goals is required.

10+ years of experience as a Scent Detection K9 Trainer and Handler in Search & Rescue is required.

5+ years of experience as a Scent Detection K9 Trainer and Handler in Single Purpose Scent Detection is preferred.

Provide collaborative coordination between the research team and the training team to ensure correct implementation of research protocols.

Collaborates on and supports public tours and stewardship events at the PVWDC and offsite events.
