Overview A Direct Care Worker is a professional who provides direct care services to individuals with physical, mental, and/or emotional disabilities. Detailed Job Description Direct Care Workers are responsible for providing direct care services to individuals with physical, mental, and/or emotional disabilities. They are responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as providing companionship and emotional support. They may also be responsible for providing transportation, administering medications, and providing assistance with medical appointments. Direct Care Workers must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Job Skills Required

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies
Job Experience
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Previous experience providing direct care services
