Overview Destination Development Managers are responsible for developing and managing tourism initiatives and activities in a particular destination. They work with local, regional and national stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to attract visitors and increase tourism revenue. They also work to ensure that the destination is attractive to potential visitors and provides a positive experience for those who visit. Detailed Job Description Destination Development Managers are responsible for developing and managing tourism initiatives and activities in a particular destination. This includes researching and analyzing the destination’s current tourism market, developing marketing plans and strategies to attract visitors, and working with local, regional and national stakeholders to implement these plans. They also work to ensure that the destination is attractive to potential visitors and provides a positive experience for those who visit. Destination Development Managers must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working with a variety of stakeholders. They must also be able to think strategically and develop creative solutions to challenges.
