Critical Care Internship Program Jobs

Provide captive management and husbandry for over 60 raptors and reptiles used for programs and in exhibits

Good time management and organized

Gain extensive hands-on training in raptor captive management and avian rehabilitation of songbirds, waterfowl, raptors and reptiles.

Perform daily husbandry tasks for permanent residents used in educational programs and exhibits

Field phone calls about injured and orphaned birds and arrange transport with finders or volunteers

Assist rehabilitation staff with initial intake exams, medical treatments, and daily care of avian rehabilitation patients, including orphaned baby birds

Basic cardiac life support certification (BLS)

Experienced nurses will precept the nurse interns in the clinical settings

Graduate Nurse Letter from the FL Board of Nursing

Management interviews will take place the week of August 14th

Internship Begins October 16th, 2023 (external applicants will be required to attend clinical orientation two weeks prior to starting the program)

Vacations / PTO's will not be approved during the first four weeks of didactic training.

There is a two year required commitment for the internship program specifically to the unit of hire.
