Receives arrestees at the jail

Resolves the need for restraints and applies handcuffs, martin chain or leg irons as appropriate

Conducts warrant checks, acquires fingerprints and searches personal property

Supervises pods, inspects cells, counts inmates, and searches cells and inmates for contraband and weapons and maintains security of the facility

Responds to and deals with inmates exhibiting violent, irrational behaviors in an effective manner

Two (2) years of experience working with members of the public.

License and Certifications must be successfully completed within first year of employment

Obtain and maintain firearms qualifications

Obtain and maintain CPR Certification

In addition to the above, one (1) year of experience equivalent to the County's class of Sheriff's Security Officer I.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to write incident reports and read business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay Range: $25.21 - $32.77 / hour

Military, law enforcement, or other work experience that relates to code enforcement.

Healthcare Security experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
