Community Surveyor Jobs

5+ years of experience as a Surveyor.

Previous experience on easements/cadastral projects.

Ability to work away from home.

Tertiary qualification in Surveying or similar.

Experience using Trimble equipment is ideal.

Topcon GPS Survey System equipment and software experience

Experience with creating and working with Machine Control GPS models

Have a working knowledge of hand-held calculators is important.

Familiarity with requirements of global positioning (GPS) and geographical land information systems (G/LIS).

General knowledge of hydrographic, mining and photogrammetric surveying.

Knowledge of and familiarization with general applications of CAD.

Knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards and organizations such as MSPS, ALTA, NGS, ACSM, BLMS, and ASCE.

2-year Associates or 4-year B.S. degree in Surveying/Surveying Technology or the equivalent work experience preferred.

A Day in the Life of A Community Surveyor Looks Like:

1. Collecting data by visiting the Near Eastside and Martindale Brightwood neighborhoods residents

2. Using mobile friendly technology-based survey tools to record answers

3. Participating in week trainings to learn inviting and courteous language

4. Engaging with residents daily to understand their needs and struggles
