Detailed Job Description A Community Behavioral Health Resource Specialist is responsible for providing support, resources, and education to individuals, families, and communities in order to promote mental health and well-being. They must be knowledgeable about mental health issues, and be able to provide resources and referrals to those in need. They must be able to assess the needs of individuals and families, and provide appropriate interventions. They must also be able to advocate for mental health services in the community. Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred
• Certification in a related field (e.g. Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor) preferred
• Previous experience working with individuals and families in a mental health setting preferred
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of mental health issues and resources
• Knowledge of community resources and services
• Knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques
• Knowledge of advocacy and policy issues related to mental health
Job Experience
• Previous experience working with individuals and families in a mental health setting preferred
• Previous experience working in a community setting preferred
Job Responsibilities
• Provide support, resources, and education to individuals, families, and communities in order to promote mental health and well-being
• Assess the needs of individuals and families, and provide appropriate interventions
• Advocate for mental health services in the community
• Develop and implement mental health programs and services
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided
