Coding Education Content Quality Specialist Jobs

Works with the Regional Manager to identify areas of educational need based on audit results

Must have proficient MS Office computer skills, specifically in Excel and knowledge of various coding software/platforms and EMRs

A minimum of seven (7) years of hospital inpatient coding experience is required

Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS classification system and MS- DRG and APR-DRG methodologies is required

In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy/physiology, pharmacology, and pathology is required

Expert and up-to-date knowledge of industry Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines along with CMS and other agency directives for ICD-10 coding

High school diploma with some college (additional equivalent experience above the required minimum may substitute for the required level of education)

Complete a pre-employment medical coding assessment that is provided, developed, and administered by candidate management instructions.

THIS POSITION IS REMOTE - WORK FROM HOME.

Develop coding education presentations as requested.

Provide coding education and training to customers as requested.

Provide coding education and training to internal coders as requested.

Worksite: Leading children's medical institution (Dallas, TX 75235 - Open to remote candidates in Texas)

Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings; attend other meetings as required. Completes all required training and education.

3 years of coding experience.

Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience is preferred - Health Information Technology (must provide proof of PPE/internship hours) is required.

Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred - Health Information Administration (must provide proof of PPE/Internship hours).

General knowledge of EHR's (electronic health record systems).

Minimum of three (3) years of coding experience required.

Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.

At least five (5) years of specialty coding experience, preferred.

At least 5 years’ experience in content development, editing, and proofreading review

Possesses interpersonal communications skills designed to influence and resolve conflict

Prepares written reports of review findings and recommendations and presents to management and maintains monitoring records.

Ability to comply with the American Health Information Management Associate's Code of Ethic and Standards

Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities

Knowledge of health information systems for computer application to medical records

Knowledge of ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 coding conventions to code medical record entries; abstract information

Interact with colleagues across Education departments to assure accuracy and logic of content, educational framework, and user experience

Bring new ideas in the areas of design, content management, and eLearning/multimedia tool usage

Broad healthcare revenue cycle education and/or experience

Two or more years in instructional content design, content management, or editing

5 or more years of recent ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills
