The knowledge and organizational skills to develop and modify menus to comply with the member’s diet prescription.

The written communication skills necessary to effectively document nutritional assessment/education results and nutritional recommendations.

The analytical skills necessary to determine members’ nutritional needs and to develop a nutritional care plan.

The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with members, their families, physicians and other department or hospital staff.

The verbal communication skills necessary to convey information in a clear, concise manner.

Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development, competency and license as outlined in the position description.

Maintains department documentation and productivity standards and practices effective time management.

Participates in community relations and external speaking events to promote service and education within the Lurie Children’s community and beyond.

Minimum of 1-year clinical or research experience post completion of dietetic internship/supervised practice preferred.

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to interact with patients, families and staff.

Demonstrate skills in analyzing problems, making decisions, working independently, counseling and more.
