Climate Change Officer Jobs in Washington

Undertake additional duties as required by Director and/or Manager of the GEF Programs Division.

In addition to the required skills above, the following skills would be highly desirable:

Experience with GHG emission reductions accounting methodologies;

Experience with integrating climate mitigation solutions, such as low-carbon energy and sustainable transportation, into urban planning processes;

Experience integrating climate mitigation outcomes with biodiversity and/or land restoration;

Excellent technical and working knowledge in various sectors and on integrated, cross-sectoral approaches.

Experience in land management, private sector engagement, finance, energy, biodiversity conservation, and deforestation, preferable.

Provide support for USAID’s Climate Risk Management Policies.

Bachelor’s Degree with at least three (3) years of relevant experience.

Technical expertise in international development, project implementation, and climate change, including knowledge of the USG’s international climate programming.

Excellent research, analytical, writing and organizational skills. Ability to write succinctly and to produce documents quickly.

Help Missions support Administration climate priorities in their programming, including implementing the USAID Climate Strategy.
