Overview A Certified EKG Technician is a healthcare professional who is responsible for performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other cardiac tests. They are responsible for preparing patients for testing, operating the EKG machine, and interpreting the results. They must also be able to recognize any abnormalities in the results and report them to the physician. Detailed Job Description The Certified EKG Technician is responsible for performing EKG tests on patients. This includes preparing the patient for the test, operating the EKG machine, and interpreting the results. • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited EKG Technician program
• Certification as an EKG Technician
• Current CPR certification
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology

• Knowledge of EKG machines and other cardiac testing equipment
• Ability to recognize abnormalities in EKG results
Job Experience
• Previous experience as an EKG Technician is preferred
