A CDA II is responsible for providing patient care and assisting the dentist during procedures. They must be knowledgeable in dental procedures, anatomy, and terminology. They must be able to take and develop x-rays, prepare and sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during procedures. They must also be able to take impressions, make temporary crowns, and provide patient education. In addition, they must be able to maintain the dental office, including stocking supplies and cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
