Assist student with daily living skills such as toileting and feeding.
Work with special education students may include lifting, feeding, changing, toileting, and other services.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a classroom setting working with severe and profoundly disabled students needing intensive supports is required.
Experience with and understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with autism and other behavior issues is required.
Experience working with students in grades K-5 needing intensive 1:1 support.
Experience working with and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans.

Detailed Job Description A Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues in individuals, families, and groups. They provide counseling, therapy, and other interventions to help individuals cope with mental health issues. They also provide education and support to individuals and families to help them better understand mental health issues and how to manage them. They may also provide referrals to other mental health professionals or services. Job Skills Required

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
• Licensure as a mental health professional in the state of practice
• Certification as a Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS)

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
