Strong independent time management skills

Awareness of and ability to implement classroom management strategies in various virtual settings

Experience with students with learning differences, autism or other disabilities valued

Five years of related work experience in on-going educational, vocational, pre-college, college and/or gap year programs.

Background in special education and/or previous coaching experience

Previous experience with children or learning environment

Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.

Assist with administration of scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.

Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.

Collect all materials from homework to permission slips

Must have a basic understanding of child development and skills necessary to relate to the students being serviced

Knowledge of student assessment and grading

Experience utilizing technology and social media preferred

File papers in student folders

Write names, information on standardized test sheet.

Minimum: Missouri substitute teaching certificate; Prior experience in a school setting and/or working with young people.

The Columbia Public School District is seeking Instructional Aide's for CELN.

Computation: Add, subtract multiply and divide using units of American money, weight, volume and distance.

Reasoning: Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, Solve problems involving concrete variables within standardized situations

May duplicate educational materials on a sporadic basis, within categorical funding guidelines.

Supports student instruction and assessment by working with students individually or in small groups, as directed by the teacher.

Follows teacher's lesson plans to reinforce lessons presented by teacher.

Implements alternative methods for presenting instruction to students, as directed by the teacher.

Confers with teacher regarding programs and materials to meet student needs.

Provides feedback to teacher on students' progress.
