Detail oriented with effective time management skills

Minimum two (2) years clerical office experience. Preferably in medical office environment.

Proficient in Microsoft office products required, prefer Electronic Medical records experience Meditech and WellSky.

Medical Insurance authorization experience preferred

Must have proven excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills in person and over the phone

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

Must have medical billing and authorizations experience

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word (Typing Test will be conducted at Interview)

Ability to answer multiple phone lines with proper phone etiquette

Work well in a fast-paced environment

Ability to prioritize tasks, handle pressure, and delicate situations

Experience in a managed care or call center setting or physician’s office; knowledge of managed care and/or utilization management strategies advisable

Special projects/other duties as assigned by Management. 

1-3 years professional experience in related position, preferably in health care.

Excellent writing skills with familiarity and comfort with medical terminology.

Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within the realm of set business and benefit guidelines

Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

1 year recent relevant experience.

Medical terminology, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)/Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS)/International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-9 coding knowledge.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word or similar programs.

Active listening skills; including interpersonal skills and telephone communication.

2 or more years of utilization management experience

1 or more years of project management experience

Reviews inventory reports and assists management with data tracking to identify trends with specific authorization cases

Educates providers on utilization and medical management processes. Enters and maintains pertinent clinical information in various medical management systems

Implements and executes policies and processes necessary to support the business need and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

3 years or more of varied nursing experience
