Possession of current certifications as a Building Inspector and Plans Examiner from the International Code Council (ICC).
Certification through the Division of the State Architect (DSA) as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp).
Any applicable certifications currently possessed
Coordinate, and supervise the daily assignments of field inspection and plans examination personnel.
Review plans for compliance with state and local codes; issue permits.
Participate in the development of the division's annual budget.

Overview The Assistant Building Official is responsible for assisting the Building Official in the administration and enforcement of building codes, ordinances, and regulations. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to the public, contractors, and other government agencies. Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Certification as a Building Official or Building Inspector
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes
