Salary: (Based on experience level)

• Clean and maintain aquariums, including water changes, gravel vacuuming, and glass cleaning

• Test water quality and adjust chemical levels as needed

Manage schedules, assign duties, and optimize labor to ensure all locations are staffed for success

Determine staffing requirements and assist with hiring, onboarding, and training as needed

Communicate and partner with the Regional Manager to drive alignment and overall strategy for designated venue(s)

Address and resolve customer concerns or service failures appropriately to ensure optimal guest experiences and recovery

Works as assigned by the Diving Supervisor to ensure the safe and successful completion of all diving operations.

Performs such tasks topside and underwater as directed by the Diving supervisor.

Obeys all commands or signals to return to the surface immediately.

Reports any physical problems that may be encountered to the Diving Supervisor prior to and after any dive.

Follows all safe diving procedures in accordance with the Diving Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.

Learn and use good housekeeping skills at the dive locker and facilities.

Ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations and needs.

Be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and O2 provider for diving injuries within 30 days of employment.

Learn to clean underwater facilities throughout the park.

Learn how to properly setup and break down all required equipment at each dive site.

Maintain accurate daily dive log, records and remain OSHA compliant.

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

One (1) year related experience

Aquarium or confined water diving experience.

Experience working in a similar resort setting.

Maintain aquarium tanks and equipment in accordance with aquarium standards.

Familiar with surface-supplied diving, hookah line diving, and full-face mask diving.

Strong communication skills necessary to interact with management and clients

Prepare and enforce dive plans, job hazard analysis, and emergency management plans for projects;

Education: High School Diploma required degree in Biology or Environmental sciences a plus.

Licensure: State Issued Driver’s License required and DOT Driver certification preferred;

Current Physical, First-Aid, Oxygen, CPR certification or the ability to obtain.

Lead the Stantec scientific dive team;

Learn and use good housekeeping skills at the dive locker and facilities.

Ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations and needs.

Be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and O2 provider for diving injuries within 30 days of employment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Experience and/or in-depth knowledge with as many of the following types of diving related topics:

Manage, track, maintain, and support project equipment.

Eight years of related experience.

Significant military diving experience and a deep understanding of Navy diving protocols.

Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills.

Visual tank inspection, SCUBA, and Commercial diving equipment maintenance certification/experience preferred.

Failure to meet these requirements will result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.

Responsible for conducting dives in support of ASC-managed diving projects in Antarctica.

Advises the Supervisor Dive Services on job progress, material requirements, and personnel matters.

Cold-water diving equipment maintenance skills are required.

Nationally recognized SCUBA Certification and CPR/First Aid/DAN O2 certification is required.

Able to complete provided CPR training/certification

At least 1 year diving work experience

Knowledge of diver’s diseases and emergency remedial procedures

Operate pneumatic, hydraulic, hand and power tools

Operate small gas/electric engines and pumps

Maintain the highest standards of work area cleanliness at all times

Your responsibilities as salvage diver

Execution of other salvage activities such as: welding, cargo handling or deck support.

A valid Medical Dive Certificate.

Good command of English (written and spoken).

Open to work on weekends and public holidays frequently, with OT and allowances compensated.

Where you will work: You will work at our location in Houston and at project locations worldwide.

4+ years experience in the Commercial Diving with 2+ years in the Salvage Industry

Current ADCI / IMCA recognized certification, DCBC preferred.

O2 Provider/ Emergency Oxygen Certification

Has a good working knowledge of all aspects of diving and salvage operations

Intermediate Supervisory, leadership, communication skills with the ability to articulate the points and instructions.

Good knowledge of all dive administrative aspects.

Learn and use good housekeeping skills at the dive locker and facilities.

Be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and O2 provider for diving injuries within 30 days of employment.

Basic constructions skills (concrete, steel, carpentry, welding, fabricating, etc.)

Current Blood Borne Pathogens, First Aid, CPR, DAN O2 Administration certifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

Set up a dive station and ensure all equipment is functioning as designed.

Be capable of completing all required daily safety sheets and holding daily safety meetings.

Project Management experience required, with a proven record of completing projects on schedule and within budget.

Knowledge should include all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface-supplied air diving.

Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in underwater inspections, commercial dive operations, and marine engineering projects.

Knowledge of structural engineering, design, analysis, and bridge condition inspection is a plus.

Additional experience with bridge, waterfront, and/or dam projects is preferred.

Experience with business development and marketing including developing and maintaining relationships with clients, teaming partners and subconsultants is prefered not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated experience in conservation and informal education in an aquarium, zoo, museum, park, nature center or related facility.

Providing leadership and direction for educational exhibits, programs and special activities.

Demonstrated skills in strategic planning and goal setting.

Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff, such as work planning, performance evaluation and staff coaching.

Advise users concerning equipment capabilities and maintenance requirements.

Administer all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual or greater 3M maintenance requirements for assigned diving related equipment.

Military diving experience and credibility in the Navy dive community are essential to successful delivery of the required service.

Five (5) years’ experience as a military recompression chamber supervisor to include recognition and treatment of diving emergencies.

Schedule, direct, and monitor 3M system while keeping abreast of changes/directives issued by the US Navy.

Conduct inventories of Special Tactics diving equipment, watercraft, and engines.

Work with the Director and Education Manager, to implement volunteer recruitment plan, updating as needed, to meet center demand

Coordinates with SEA’s Education staff to support academic program content

Utilizes knowledge of aquarium animals to develop interpretive signage, and interactive/informational displays for all SEA visitors.

Train and manage animal and aquarium care team members (staff and volunteers) to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.

Provide on-going training for volunteers to increase knowledge of animals at the aquarium

Strong interpersonal skills to educate, train and collaborate with the general public, colleagues and others.
