1 year office/business experience - call center or claims processing experience preferred.

Written communication skills as well as business writing and presentation skills are required.

High school diploma or General Equivalecy Diploma (GED)

Provide customer service meeting and greeting patients responding to incoming calls, scheduling appointments, referrals, messaging, and maintaining patient demographics.

Develop and maintain positive customer andpartner relationships; act as member/patient advocate in dealing with practitioners, employer groups, and brokers.

Record all calls, mail, email, faxes, walk-in encounters, etc. in appropriate databases to provide meaningful, accurate data for analysis and reporting.

Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.

Prior experience in a customer service related field preferred; health care experience is desirable

Accesses on-line physician/provider scheduling protocols for each appointment scheduled to ensure scheduling accuracy.

Verifies basic demographic information when scheduling; pre-registers all new patients and fully registers all outreach clinic patients.

Informs patients of any financial/insurance obligations they may expect at the time of their appointment.

Performs clerical duties to include filing, mailing patient appointment reminders, faxing outreach schedules, and completing ancillary service orders.

2 years related experience in a Healthcare environment (preferred) but not required

Prior medical insurance experience (preferred)

Have good oral and written communication skills

Fast-paced, high volume Dept Name department is looking for top skilled Appointment Scheduling Specialist.

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Knowledge of general dermatology, surgery, and med spa services.

EMR knowledge (Helpful if familiar with EMA/ModMed)

Excellent computer and phone skills are required for this role.

Answering and scheduling appointment for 70-100 calls per day.

Entering patient demographics accurately into the EMR system.

Exhibit solid organizational skills, flexibility, time management, and attention to detail in a goal - orientated environment

Knowledge of medical terminology (provider specialties, ICD/CPT codes etc.)

Experience in a related environment (i.e., office, administrative, clerical, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
