Maintains and updates knowledge and skills necessary for success in the position by participating in professional development activities.

Performs a variety of clerical activities in the health room, as directed.

Maintains log of students entering the health center; updates, on the computer, immunization information on each student in the building.

The School Crossing Guard Program is a Part-time position:

Mon thru Fri, 20 hours per week.

Working hours are from (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

The minimum pay rate is $15.45 per hour, maximum $19.75 per hour.

POSITION TITLE: SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD, PART-TIME (NON-SWORN POSITION)

Some knowledge of traffic signals and traffic patterns and behavior.

Knowledge of basic safety procedures and practices relevant to being a school crossing guard.

Note: Depending on assigned responsibilities, employees may perform some or all of the duties below.

Provide for the safety of school children at designated school crossings near designated elementary schools.

Escort children across the street going to and from school.

Help prevent children from crossing the street during heavy traffic flow until it is safe to cross.

The School Crossing Guard or Relief for School Crossing Guard will

Control and direct children safely through crosswalks

Maintains time sheets, maintains attendance sheets, completes tracking records

Be able to work in extreme weather conditions.

Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.

Must be available for short notice calls to work.

Directs actions of children and traffic at street intersections to ensure safe crossing

Trains children to cross intersections in an orderly manner

Maintain flow of children at intersections so as not to have children loitering

Signals and gestures traffic in a distinct, decisive and understandable manner for stoppage to allow children to cross the intersections

Records license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and reports infractions to police

Reports suspicious vehicles or people to Police Department

Participate in art critiques and iteration processes, refining and adjusting concept art based on team feedback and project requirements.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to effectively convey ideas and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Create imaginative and memorable character/creature concepts that embody the spirit and style of our Animal Crossing-inspired game.

Collaborate with the Game Designers to ensure character and creature designs align with gameplay mechanics and narrative elements.

Assist in designing user interfaces, menus, and other on-screen elements that are visually engaging and consistent with the game's overall aesthetic.

Support the UI/UX Designers in ensuring that the game's visual elements are easily navigable and intuitive for players.

Supervise the safe crossing of school children at designated crossing points

Encourage safety consciousness in pedestrians and motorists

Deter children from committing unlawful or unsafe acts

Inform motorists, through appropriate signals, that pedestrians have the right of way

Observe and report conditions or incidents that are detrimental to safety, including violations of traffic laws or regulations

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in playing Animal Crossing

Strong proficiency in game design and development concepts, with experience in developing creative ideas for games.

Deep knowledge of Animal Crossing and its game mechanics, aesthetics, and narrative.

Work closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure the game mechanics and design are implemented effectively and efficiently.
