Americorps Program Officer Jobs in California

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in grantmaking, nonprofit management and/or management consulting experience preferred

Experience using GivingData and/or other grants management software a plus

Drives, manages, and participates in activities aimed at achieving shared goals both internally and externally

Supervises and evaluates the Grants Associate performance, including enumerating, directing and clarifying their responsibilities and duties, while encouraging development

Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience

A commitment to and professional experience in working with historically undercapitalized communities and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices

Supports and reviews program and grant outcomes, analyzes data and summarizes as needed to inform future grant strategy development and management.

Programmatic knowledge base and experience with youth sports youth development particularly serving BIPOC communities.

Nonprofit operations, management, and structure

Familiarity with grants management software and relational databases, is a bonus.

Develops, manages, reviews and complies with grant-making budgets.

5-7 years' experience, preferably in a grant-making organization.

Excellent organization skills; able to effectively manage time and meet competing demands; reliable; punctual

Commitment to youth development; Experience with children 5-17 preferred

Experience with and/or desire to work with diverse people, organizations and communities

BA/BS (Education, Social Work, Health) strongly preferred

Attend trainings (not to exceed 20% of total service hours) and events to build skills and

Complete all professional development requirements as part of member contract

Finance, and budget experience strongly preferred

Extensive knowledge and experience in community organizing, movement building, integrated voter engagement, and leadership in the Bay Area region.

Develop strategy and manage the Power Pathways grantmaking portfolio in partnership with the Senior Director of the Power Pathway.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience

Four (4) years of increasingly responsible and experience in the public non-profit and/or philanthropic sector.

Excellent active listening, verbal, and written communications skills.

● Review and provide feedback on grant proposals, including assessing programs, outcome metrics, budgets, and leadership capabilities.

● Stay on top of current issues and trends in education and gender equity.

● Commitment to gender equity in education.

● Strong understanding of the political economy in education in India.

● Experience in the nongovernmental, governmental, and/or philanthropic sector with an understanding of how nongovernmental organizations operate.

● Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated track record of consistently meeting deadlines.
