Aerospace Machinist Lathe Jobs

Experience working to very close tolerances (+/- .0002)

Experience with reading blue prints for mechanical components

Experience inspecting parts and using inspection tools

Experience with changing live tooling

What We ll Offer You in Return

Set up and run up to two machines to fabricate precision parts

Working knowledge of MRP databases, parts programs, HyperACCESS, and basic computer skills.

Executes tool paths and requirements using CNC controls, and alters cutting tool feed & speed.

Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.

At least 5 years of experience as a fully qualified vertical mill setup machinist.

Working knowledge of facing, boring, drilling, slotting, and tapping.

Ability to use CNC controls to execute tool paths and requirements.

Instructs less experienced lower level grade craftsmen.

Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.

Prepares test facility equipment for operations

Prepares test articles for testing, installs test articles, and checks installations.

Troubleshoots equipment, test articles, and installations in case of malfunctions.

Operates plant and test equipment during tests.

· Experienced in ability to set-up and in operating lathe

· Strong knowledge of application of geometric tolerances, blueprints, and specifications

· Expert skill in precision measuring equipment

· 5 years machining experience

· Quality focused and detail oriented

· Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly
