Summary

Help us serve the youth and make a difference in your community! Volunteers are an essential part of youth sports and we need your help to make our programs a success. Whether you have a child on the team or not, you are welcome to apply to become a volunteer in our youth sports programs.

The soccer season begins the week of September 18, 2023. The expected time commitment is approximately 2-3 hours per week, with one 1-2 practices a week, and games on Saturdays beginning September 30. This recreational league places an emphasis on equal playing time, sportsmanship, and having fun.


COACHING BENEFITS:

  • Reserved outdoor practice field space at Goodyear Recreation Campus.
  • Opportunity to request up to 3 players on your team plus your own child.
  • Head coaches will receive a credit (resident rate) after successful completion of season.
  • Receive volunteer hours.
  • Access to MOJO Coach training app for practice plans, game plans, and coach training.
  • Head coach will receive coach polo, practice balls, and cones.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate effectively with league administrators as well as team parents via phone, email, or text regarding schedules, league updates, rules, etc.
  • Develop and implement meaningful and instructive practice plans.
  • Emphasize teamwork, equal participation, and good sportsmanship.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age .
  • Submission of online background check.
  • Ability to work with no supervision, attend all practices and games.
  • Abide by Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with players, parents, and staff.
  • Coaches are expected to attend an in-person coaches meeting and are responsible for contacting their teams after the meeting.
  • Coaching Soccer requires basic knowledge of the game, rules and the ability to demonstrate and communicate proper skills and drills.
