$50,000.08 - Bureau for Social Services in Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties

Appointment Incentive: This position is eligible for an Appointment Incentive of $2,500 to the selected candidate who agrees to work for a minimum of twelve (12) months in the following counties: Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Gilmer, Grant, Greenbrier, Hardy, Harrison, Kanawha, Lewis, Logan, Marion, Mercer, Mineral, Mingo, Monongalia, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Preston, Roane, Summers, Taylor, Wayne, and Webster.
Appointment Incentive: This position is eligible for an Appointment Incentive of $5,000 to the selected candidate who agrees to work for a minimum of twelve (12) months in the following counties: Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan.

Under limited supervision, these positions perform advanced level professional social services work providing services to the public in the program area of youth services. They manage and assess cases involving family preservation when youth are exhibiting mental, emotional, or behavioral concerns that place themselves and others at risk. They coordinate with others to ensure youth are placed in the least restrictive environment while receiving services. Work requires the use of a personal automobile for extensive travel. These positions are subject to on-call status during non-business hours and may be required to deal with situations which are potentially dangerous to the client and worker. Perform related work as required.

Distinguishing Characteristics
These positions are distinguished by working within a caseload that crosses programmatic lines into child protective services, foster care, legal guardianship, and others. They do not have supervisory responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Special Requirement:
Eligible for Temporary Social Worker License OR Licensed as a Social Worker, Graduate Social Worker, or Certified Social Worker by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners.

Conditions of Employment
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license prior to appointment and continuously maintain such license while employed in this classification.
  • Applicants will be required to work on-call shifts periodically, as assigned by their supervisor.
  • Applicants must possess the ability to perform the essential functions and tasks of the classification.
