Youth Counselor (Orr) Jobs

HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, daily education Monday - Friday, and supportive wrap-around services in the East Brooklyn section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR.
Nuevo Camino is currently seeking a Youth Counselor to provide supervision, support, and direction to children in the Unaccompanied Minor program while promoting growth and development; Complete all required logs, forms, and reports, participate in meetings as scheduled; accompany groups or individual children for outside activities or appointments as scheduled.
Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, respectful, hospitable, and professional atmosphere.
• Communicate with the treatment team and program supervisors.
• Monitor and supervise youth in the program to provide a safe, clean, and secure environment.
• Document daily services, and maintain client charts, progress notes, and group notes.
• Facilitate groups or individual activities; accompanies and transports youth to outside activities (including supervised recreation) and appointments as required.
• Help maintain consistency in the delivery of services and with regard to programmatic policies.
• Assist with lunch and snacks for youth.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and regular supervision.
