On Call Youth Counselor

The Youth Counselor works as a staff member in the children’s community residence providing supervision,

Responsibilities:

• Accompanies groups or individual children for outside activities or appointments as scheduled.
• Completes all required logs, forms and reports;
• Participates in meetings as scheduled;
• Prepares meals to conform to menus;
• Maintains a hazard free, clean and orderly household;
• Support and direction to children ensuring their positive growth and development;

Requirements:

• Experience in working with diverse communities, and knowledge of multicultural issues including race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, etc.
• Experience working with children with serious emotional disturbance
• Computer application proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and general comfort with web-based computer applications
• Ability to work flexible shifts
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
