Ymca Tusd - Youth Development Staff

The YMCA is looking for enthusiastic and adaptable individuals that are interested in making a difference in the lives of children and joining our YMCA Child and Youth Development team in the Tustin area. As a staff you will have the opportunity to be a positive influence in the lives of a group of children, while assisting them with homework, playing group games, conducting planned lessons and having fun. Our YMCA Child and Youth Development staff are mentors, teachers and much more.

The YMCA also has an openings for a Child & Youth Development Leads. The Lead position is responsible for the program on site, leadership and supervision of a childcare program with the support of the Program Director. The Child & Youth Development Lead ensures the implementation of YMCA curriculum while providing care, guidance and developmental experiences in accordance with YMCA guidelines.

What you need to apply:

• Enjoy working with children
• Positive attitude
• Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
• Have at least a high school degree/equivalent
• Specialized training or coursework in childcare, child behavior, psychology, or teaching and related fields desirable but not required
• Be over the age of 18
• Have some experience working with children in an organized setting

Site Lead Education & Experience:

• Based on minimum education, experience would range between 1-4 years.
• 12 college units with 6 units in Child Development or Education and 6 in a related field such as sociology or phycology.
• Experience working with children ages 5-12 years of age, in an after school program setting.
